This product is currently sold out.

An early English transferware plate with the kind of depth and detail that immediately feels collected and storied. Produced by Copeland & Garrett, the successors to Spode, this antique blue and white plate features an elaborate game bird scene framed by richly layered scrollwork and a beautifully molded edge.

The deep cobalt transfer pattern and softly timeworn surface give this piece the unmistakable charm of early Victorian English pottery. We especially love the movement throughout the border detailing paired with the highly decorative bird motifs, cock fighting pattern making it just as beautiful displayed on a wall as layered into a shelf or cabinet collection.

Marked to the underside with an early “Late Spode” style backstamp dating this piece to approximately 1833–1847.  Copeland & Garrett, successors to the famed Spode pottery, produced highly collectible English transferware during the early Victorian era. Pieces marked “Late Spode,” dating from approximately 1833–1847, are especially coveted today for their richly detailed cobalt transfer patterns and beautiful early English craftsmanship.

Please note this piece shows visible age, chipping and wear consistent with its history, including crazing, staining, a hairline crack, and rim chipping as shown. We believe these imperfections only add to the collected old-world character that makes antique transferware so special.
