Antique Delft-Style Blue & White Scenic Plate

$44.00

This product is currently sold out.

A beautifully timeworn blue and white plate featuring a classic pastoral windmill scene, framed by an ornate scalloped rim with raised geometric and foliate detailing. This piece reflects the enduring influence of Dutch Delftware, with its soft cobalt tones, expressive hand-applied transfer, and gently crackled glaze that speaks to its age and authenticity.

While unmarked, the craftsmanship, glaze quality, and decorative motif are consistent with European Delft-style earthenware produced in the late 19th to early 20th century, a period when these romantic scenic plates were widely collected and displayed in homes as both functional and decorative objects.

Detail photos show a tape mark on the front of the plate that can likely be cleaned off, as well as no maker stamp on the backside.

The plate shows honest signs of age including light surface wear and subtle discoloration consistent with over a century of life and use, adding to its character rather than detracting from its beauty. Ideal for hanging on a plate wall, styling on open shelving, or layering into a blue and white vignette.
