A beautifully timeworn antique Chinese blue and white stoneware jar, hand painted in rich cobalt blue with a charming landscape motif. The loose, painterly decoration and wonderfully imperfect stoneware body give this piece the character we love in old utilitarian pottery.
Believed to date to the late 19th or early 20th century, this provincial-style vessel was likely originally made for everyday use. Today, its sculptural shape and classic blue and white palette make it a beautiful piece for styling on a shelf, tabletop or collected alongside other antique pottery.
