A beautifully moody vintage still life painting featuring an abundant arrangement of fruit in rich reds, greens and warm golden tones, accented by a striking blue vessel. The painting is signed “J. Maris?” and is set in an oversized, deeply carved gilt frame that gives the piece wonderful old-world presence. Both the painting and frame show some age and wear, including areas of paint loss, surface cracking and chips, which I think only add to its timeworn character and charm.
This is such a great statement piece for a kitchen, dining room, butler's pantry or layered into a collected gallery wall.
Condition: Vintage condition with visible age and wear throughout. Painting has craquelure, scratches and areas of paint loss/chipping. Gilt frame has rubbing, chips and finish loss. Please review photos closely.
